Hello Members
Just wanted to jog your memory.................we have a great raffle going on right now.
1st prize is $2,500
2nd prize is $ 500
3rd prize is $ 250
the raffle drawing is March 31st.
Only a handful of members have picked up their ticket books to sell. Remember, the more tickets you sell the less you pay for your racing this year, 1 moto buck for every ticket sold, not to mention the more money the club makes for essentials for the season. Please contact Lori Axhelm, our raffle contact.........she is keeping track of everyone's moto bucks account. Her cell # 378-9354 Please call her ASAP to get your tickets.
Jim will have next months meeting agenda ready by next week, it will be sent out by email and posted on the website. If you want a say in where YOUR club is heading this year? you need to show up for the meetings. All current members have a vote.
Monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 7-8pm at the snowmachine club house, unless otherwise posted.
The race season is quickly approaching so we need to get our volunteer rosters filled up. Please be thinking about where you would like to help out. There are MANY areas to help with.
Each week we need at least 3 to 4 lap counters 2 for the first half of the day and 2 for the last half or 2 for all day with the 3rd person being a relief person or backup. Lap counting is very easy to learn and you have a great view of the races up on our lap shed deck.
Last year we started our snack shack.....it was a big hit! we will need a manager to run it. We want to thank Danielle Hanson again for doing a fantastic job of running it last year!!! :) This position is paid. There is still a need for a track safety officer, a membership director and a Public Relations director.
Also up for grabs is a position as the State Board Rep for Fairbanks, we need someone that is interested in representing our club for all state races, preferably someone that is planning to attend all state races.
Please contact one of the board members if you would like to talk more about these areas of need. Up coming events that we need help in planning is our 2nd annual membership drive chili dog feed coming up at our April meeting. The gear swap in May. Please talk to me about these two events.
Starting at the next meeting we will begin doing sign ups. Member packets will be available. If you don't have a race number or you are thinking of changing your number we will have the updated list.....remember our club is odd numbers. *your membership dues must be paid prior to changing your number or picking a new one* Every racer will be required to sign a new waver. No racer or member will be able to ride or race our track without it signed. You will find attached the 2010 race schedule. We will have these flyers printed out at each meeting so you can post them at your place of work or give them out. Please feel free to print this one out and give them out when you are selling your raffle tickets :)
Thanks to everyone in advance for your help with this years race season, without your help this club would cease to exist.
A couple of topics that will be on the agenda for the March 11th meeting will be increased membership dues and race fees. We will be discussing the need to increase these fees unless we can get more members involved with the club and to volunteer to help out with race day activities, i.e., trash pick-up, watering, lap counting, flagging, etc… yes, all the activities that have fallen into the hands of the board member over the years. The increase in fees will go towards paying someone to come in and pick up the trash, pay people to count laps, etc. We may propose that members that want to volunteer to help with these activities continue to pay the $125.00 annual fee and those that just want to come and race and not help out pay an annual fee of $250.00. Come to the meetings, let your voices be heard, it’s your club.
